This year, SCBF celebrates its tenth anniversary.  During this time, SCBF has provided more than 159 grants in 47 countries to support our partners in their efforts to expand customer-centric financial services. Operating as a unique platform for public-private sector cooperation, SCBF leverages the resources, networks, and knowledge of its 26 members and 36 technical assistance providers to support financial institutions as they refine and upscale affordable, client-centric financial services. Through this support, SCBF has reached 2.6 million end-clients, 68 percent of whom are women.

As we celebrate our successes, we are deeply aware of the need to do more. The urgency for collective action to scale solutions that increase the resilience of low-income households is growing daily as emerging markets continue to suffer and recover from the impacts of COVID-19, and the prospect of less inclusive growth increases. We are leveraging this anniversary to outline what we’ve learned over the past ten years in our newest report, particularly in  inclusive finance in a digital world, bridging the Pioneer Gap  to scale solutions for the underserved, and digital finance for climate resilience.

We are grateful to our donors, members, partners, Board members as well as past and present employees who have made the achievements over the last 10 years possible, and who will join us with renewed urgency for the future.
